Obama’s side of the story on whitehouse.gov.
It’s so sad…I truly believe he has a good heart to do the right thing. The problem is…he’s fighting 1/5th of our economy and the few powerful men that profit the most from this industry. And I don’t trust those villains more than I could throw them.
I’ve been bothered by this debate, which has been dominated by talk of fake protest mobs, nazi imagery, Republicans just naysaying everything, and Sarah Palin somehow getting in liberals’ heads even though she sounds more like every other talking head that dooms honest conversation in this country. We should be talking more about why healthcare is so expensive, why lobbyists still have a hand in how we deal with public policy, and what works for us. It’s not enough for us to say that it works in Canada. We suffer from our own monster that we’ve always planned to fight, but never seem to put together the proper plan to actually take care of.
As long as corporate influences run the show, I have little hope that things will change.
