This post is not about the cat, it’s about what it’s laying in!
What you see here is going to become even more popular in the years to come, if it isn’t already: wine crate furniture.  It’s inexpensive, maybe free, and you can gloat that you saved the planet or something.  Kay mentioned the use of these as storage shelves, and I thought it was a fantastic idea.
Now that I’m holed up in my apartment for a rainy night, it’s time to look things up!  I found this site that provides some ideas for people who are interested, but the truth is that you can be really creative here.  Have fun!  My idea is to create a ladderstep shelving system, maybe three or four boxes tall, so my future feline occupant has something fun to climb up and chill out on (and I won’t freak the hell out if she uses it for scratching).  We’ll see how that goes.
