Sounding Familiar
I just read this:
Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez announced Sunday he will again seek to change his office’s two-term limit so he can seek re-election.
And it sounded awfully familiar. What was it? Oh, I remember … it sounds a lot like this:
Mayor Michael Bloomberg is still a popular mayor according to the new Marist Poll but not as popular as he was before he pushed through the change in term limits that will allow him to run for a third term.I’m not the only one to notice the similarity.
Oh, and this. It sounds a lot worse when Chavez is doing it, doesn’t it? Let me bring it even closer to home: let’s just imagine that Bush’s popularity was at 2004 levels (for reasonability purposes). How would you feel if he decided that the war on terror needed him to stay and finish the job himself? 4 more years? How do you feel?
This might turn into Jeff Miller Reblog Day, the way things are going.
