The God Save The Fan (Paperback Edition) Now Available
Yeah, what he said.

Having read the article on Costas Now, I probably should just go ahead and buy this.  But I have the old fellas’ backs in a way.
To put it in tumblr perspective, seeing Buzz discover this magical hell called “commenters” is like finding out that someone snarked on your blog.  Maybe they were wrong, maybe they were right, it might just keep you in a bad mood for the rest of the day.  Am I really full of myself?  (Probably)  Am I a douchebag?  (Oh, yeah, but aren’t we all?)  Am I short?  (NO)  Buzz and Costas went to the school bathroom and saw the writing on the stalls that indicated that people don’t like them, and cmon, who isn’t going to come in blazing after all that?
Leitch does a good job of here of reminding us that B and C didn’t have a clue of the world they were trying to debate about, and we shouldn’t fault them so much for that.  I’m already yelling for Miley Cyrus to get off my lawn with her stupid camera phone, so I’m really excited to see what the next generation can bring to the table.  The world is ending!
One question I have for Leitch is whether or not his perspective on sharing personal pictures of athletes and intruding on their lives has changed.  Specifically… the incident of Daulerio checking out a TV personality’s text message behind his back and other pics of partying athletes doing stuff that we all do and causing an unnecessary distraction… it just seems over the line and tabloidish at this point.  Sure, it gets clicks and advertising cash, but it kinda puts sports journalism on the same level as TMZ, and that’s not something I’m all that comfortable with.
BTW, there’s going to be a reading in NYC tonight.  Check here for the details.
